INGREDIENTS

For the Filling:
6 cups fresh or frozen peaches, sliced
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Batter:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 tbsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1 cup granulated sugar

Optional Topping:
1 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat the oven:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish, tilting to coat the bottom evenly.

2. Prepare the peaches:
In a large bowl, mix sliced peaches with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Stir to coat and let sit while preparing the batter.

3. Make the batter:
In another bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add milk, stirring until smooth and pourable.

4. Assemble the cobbler:
Pour half of the batter over the melted butter (do not stir). Spoon half of the peach mixture on top, then repeat with remaining batter and peaches. For extra flavor, sprinkle 1 tbsp brown sugar mixed with ½ tsp cinnamon over the top.

5. Bake:
Bake 45–50 min, until golden brown and bubbling at the edges.

6. Serve:
Let cool 10 min before serving warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Helpful Baking Tips

  • If using frozen peaches, be sure to thaw them slightly and drain any excess liquid before mixing.
  • Avoid stirring the batter into the butter or peaches—this step is key to achieving perfect cobbler layers.
  • For a richer flavor, use ripe, fresh peaches during peak season.
